Suzanne Burns is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Industrial Practice, serving multinational and U.S.-based manufacturing, distribution, and private equity clients. She has 25 years of industrial industry experience in C-suite and growth-oriented roles such as strategic planning, global expansion, mergers and acquisitions, IOT, digital e-commerce, and marketing.
Burns specializes in board, C-suite, and senior-level assignments and succession planning consultation across multiple sectors, functions, and regions. With her broad global operations experience, she helps organizations find leaders who can adapt to changing times by developing appropriate strategies, culture, and talent.
Before joining Spencer Stuart, Burns served as chief talent officer for W. W. Grainger and led the integration of the supply chain and distribution center networks of 11 previously acquired businesses into the company’s new U.S. business model. She was also president of the Fluid Management subsidiary of IDEX Corporation. During her 17 years with Eaton, she served as division president of two global power quality businesses, oversaw the integration of hydraulic manufacturer Aeroquip-Vickers, and headed the company's international development, where she established 15 startup equity investments in Asia and Latin America. She began her career as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney.
She is active in her community and serves on the boards of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation, Communities In Schools of Chicago, and Leadership Greater Chicago. She earned a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
